Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
Telly is made by Krish Murjani. This policy explains what the Telly app and this website collect. The short version: no ads, no tracking, and your data is never sold.
Without an account
Your library, watch progress, onboarding answers and settings are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. Chats with Ask Telly run on-device with Apple Intelligence and are never sent to us or anyone else.
With an account (Friends and sync)
If you create an account, we store:
- your email address, to sign you in;
- your username, display name and optional bio, which your friends can see;
- your library and what you’re currently watching, to sync between devices and, if you choose, to show your friends;
- friend requests, recommendations and notes you send, and reports you make.
This data is linked to your account, is used only to run these features, and is hosted by our backend provider, Supabase. Your friends only see what Telly shows them; strangers can’t see your activity.
Show information
Show details, posters and schedules come from TMDB, and streaming availability from Movie of the Night. Telly asks these services for show information only; it doesn’t send them who you are.
Safety
You can report or block any account or recommendation. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content or accounts that break the rules.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings › Account › Delete Account. Your account and everything linked to it are deleted straight away. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics or trackers. When you tap Get Telly, we add one to a public tap counter. To stop repeated taps, we keep a one-way hash of your network address for two days, then delete it.
Children
Telly isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
